Andrew Luck Among Noteworthy First-Time Eligibles for Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024
Former Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is among the first-time eligibles for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024. The list also includes Julius Peppers, Antonio Gates, Eric Berry, Brandon Marshall, Haloti Ngata, Jamaal Charles, Doug Baldwin, Jordy Nelson, Connor Barwin, Sebastian Janikowski, and Kyle Williams.
Although Luck’s career was shortened due to injury, he had many standout moments in his seven-year career from 2012-2018. However, he was injured and missed the entire 2017 season. His best season came in 2018 when he won the 2018 NFL Comeback of the Year Award after throwing for over 4,500 yards with 39 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
Despite Andy retiring before the 2019 NFL season and making very few public appearances since his retirement, his inclusion into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2022 is perhaps an easier case to make. During his time with the Stanford Cardinal football team, Luck transformed the program by leading the team to the Orange Bowl victory in 2010 and the Fiesta Bowl victory in 2011.
Andrew Luck has left an indelible mark on the sport of football, but his early retirement shortened his career, which hurt his chances for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He will need to become more visible again so that he can get back in the public eye and be considered for induction into the Hall of Fame.
