Ja Morant Suspended Two Games by Memphis Grizzlies
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has been suspended for two games by his team due to his latest off-court incident. In an Instagram Live video from Saturday morning, Morant allegedly showed off a gun. This news comes after a series of violent off-court incidents involving Morant. This summer, he punched a high school basketball player multiple times after being hit by a hard pass. He then allegedly brandished a gun in his waistband as the teen drove away. Additionally, there was an altercation at a store involving Morant’s mother and an incident involving the Indiana Pacers’ bus and Fox Sports broadcaster Shannon Sharpe.
While Ja Morant is a key player for the Grizzlies and has helped position them as a potential NBA title contender, these off-court incidents have become a major concern for the league, the team, and Morant himself. The news of his suspension is likely to impact the Grizzlies’ upcoming games against the Clippers and Lakers. Furthermore, teammate Brandon Clarke suffered a season-ending Achilles tear in a previous game, while Dillon Brooks, another Grizzlies player, was suspended for one game due to receiving his 16th technical foul of the season.
