The Sims 4’s Growing Together Expansion Brings the Long-Awaited Baby Update
The eagerly anticipated Growing Together expansion pack for The Sims 4 finally includes the freedom of caring for virtual infants in the game. Since the release of the fourth mainline game in 2014, it lacked babies, ghosts, pools, terrain tools, and toddlers, among other staples of the franchise. However, the expansion marks a turning point and changes everything about how babies fit into the game.
Infants in The Sims 4 can now be created and styled in the game’s Create-a-Sim menu, just like traditional Sims. Players can choose from all skin tones, hair, and outfits offered for any other Sims, with the ability to give babies different birthmarks and stretch marks. Additionally, infant Sims are dependent on others and come with new interactions like changing diapers, feeding them in highchairs, and giving them bubble baths. Other Sims can enjoy new interactions too, focused specifically on interactions with infants.
Further, the update includes new infant beds, including one that turns into a toddler bed as your baby ages, different bassinet designs for variety, and new birthmarks.
While everyone will get access to the new infant life stage, Growing Together adds further depth to the task of raising babies through milestones, occurring as babies grow and develop life skills like lifting their heads or mastering potty training. Players can track their Sim’s infants’ quirks and preferences, adding new layers to storytelling and interactions.
As a developer-approved expansión pack to the original gameplay, The Sims 4’s Growing Together Expansion Pack helps players engage and continue exploring the game.
