Could NBA Commissioner Adam Silver be in Line to Become the Next CEO at Disney?

Bob Iger recently stepped back into his role as Disney CEO but has mentioned that he plans to retire by 2024. As such, several candidates have come up for consideration as his successor, including NBA commissioner Adam Silver.

Who is on the Shortlist?

Adam Silver is on a short list of candidates being considered to take over as CEO of Disney in 2024. Among the other candidates are entertainment divisions co-chair Dana Walden and Kevin Mayer, the former chair of DAZN.

What are the Chances for Adam Silver?

Silver is seen as the frontrunner for the CEO position at Disney due to his accomplishments as NBA commissioner. He negotiated three collective bargaining agreements and developed the WNBA, NBA G League, and NBA 2K League. However, his contract with the NBA expires in 2024, so whether he will move to Disney or renew with the NBA remains to be seen.

Bob Iger’s retirement and Adam Silver’s potential candidacy for CEO of Disney has piqued interest in the media.
