Are the Boston Red Sox still cheating?

The Boston Red Sox have a history of cheating in baseball. Even manager Alex Cora bragged about how they cheated in the 2017 World Series against the Dodgers. Former Red Sox and current Dodgers star Mookie Betts has also admitted that they were stealing signals.

The Red Sox have not been caught cheating this season. However, they are finding ways to undermine MLB’s clear intention to create more offense. In September, MLB’s competition committee officially voted to implement a pitch clock for the 2023 season, ban defensive (infield) shifts and introduce a host of other changes or alterations to other rules.

While the Red Sox are not technically cheating, they continue to push the envelope and find ways to gain an edge. Playing a two-man outfield against heavily pull-hitting Joey Gallo is not cheating, but it is another example of the Red Sox disregarding the spirit of the game.

In conclusion, while the Red Sox may not be cheating right now, they have a history of it, and they continue to push boundaries. MLB’s changes to the game will help reduce cheating in the long run, but for now, it remains to be seen if the Red Sox will continue to play by their own rules.
