Northampton set to create TMNT manhole covers beloved by fans
Northampton officials have greenlit a plan to create four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-themed manhole covers in homage to the town’s contribution to their creation. These covers are set to be located along Main Street, with each one representing a different turtle.
Despite the town’s allocation of resources via a Covid-19 relief fund to the public art tribute, some local residents argue that the $20,000 could be better used elsewhere. However, the town officials believe that the homage is a step towards invigorating the town’s downtown arts scene.
